How to Use Cash App Card at ATM (2023)

Written By Adrian Volenik

Cash App and Cash App Card have become very popular in recent years. If you still didn’t jump on the bandwagon, you might be wondering if you can use Cash Card as you would any other card. Including at an ATM.

You can use Cash Card at any ATM, just like most typical bank cards. However, unless you get $300 worth of direct deposits every month, you’ll have to pay $2 per withdrawal, plus ATM’s fee.

Cash Card is basically a free debit card issued by Cash App. You can have one but don’t have to. However, it does make payments easier because it is a Visa debit card that you can use online, in-store, or via Google Pay or Apple Pay.

As soon as you order yours, you can start using it if you add it to one of the above-mentioned wallets. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for it to arrive at your address.

Cash Card is only connected to your Cash App balance and not your personal bank account or debit card.

Therefore, by using the Cash Card, you’re only spending the balance available in your Cash App balance, nothing more, nothing less.

What Are The ATM Fees for Cash Card?

Cash Card can be used at any ATM for a fee of $2. However, most ATMs will charge additional fees.

This can obviously add up quickly. Regardless, there is a way of paying no ATM fees by using your Cash Card.

How to Get Free ATM Withdrawals With Cash Card

Using Cash Card at an ATM can be quite costly, as we already know. However, you can have no fees if you set up a qualifying direct deposit in order of $300 or more per month.

In this case, the company will reimburse all fees (up to $7 per withdrawal) for 3 ATM withdrawals you make in 31 days.

How to Enable Direct Deposit

You can enable direct deposits for your tax returns, paychecks, and other similar payments and thus avail of free ATM withdrawals.

This way, you can receive up to $25,000 per deposit. That’s more than enough for every user of Cash App.

Deposits are available as soon as they arrive and up to two earlier than banks. That’s at least according to Cash App.

What is The ATM Withdrawal Limit for Cash Card?

We already know that you can utilize your Cash Card to withdraw cash at ATMs and to get cash back at checkout. But are there any limits? Yes, you can only do it up to the following limits:

  • $310 per transaction
  • $1,000 per 24-hour period
  • $1,000 per 7-day period

To use your Cash Card to get cash back, choose debit at checkout and enter the PIN. You need to know that cashback transactions also count towards your ATM limits.

You can’t check your Cash Card balance at the ATM at this time. However, you can see it in-app or online.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you can use your new Cash App Card at any ATM, just as you would any other debit card from a traditional or a digital bank.

Where it gets tricky, however, are the $2 fees from Cash App, plus fees from the ATM, which you’ll incur anytime you get cash unless you opt for direct debit upwards of $300.

This obviously isn’t ideal as not everyone wants to have their paycheck going directly to Cash App. Plus, there are many other financial apps and digital banks that offer ATM withdrawals without ANY fees, whether you have direct deposit enabled, or not.
