Is there a difference between Cash App and a Varo bank account? There is some difference.

Cash App and even Varo Bank are alternatives to traditional bank accounts in that you can do everything through the app – invest, pay, spend, send and control your money.

Varo Bank is now a traditional bank but it started its journey as a mobile bank. They’re also called digital banks, internet banks, neobanks, challenger banks, and other names.

Varo has many more features that are missing in the Cash App but that’s natural as they obviously have a different market strategy.

Cash App, on the other hand, has 36+ million users, which is much much more than Varo. It definitely has to do with its simplicity and youthful appeal, as well as marketing and social media profiles.

How to Add Cash App Card or Varo Card to Apple Pay

You can easily add your Cash Card or Varo card to the Apple Wallet app. Even if you don’t have the physical card in your hands, i.e., you just ordered it and it hasn’t yet arrived.

The process is more or less the same for any card or app, it’s very easy to do and can be done from the Cash App or Varo App itself or from Apple Wallet.

To add your Cash Card or Varo bank card to Apple Pay from Apple Wallet, you’ll have to follow the steps:

  1. In your Apple Wallet, tap +
  2. Scan your Varo card or Cash Card or enter details manually
  3. Follow the steps
  4. Open Cash App to verify that your card has been added

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express

Cash App doesn’t support:

  • Paypal
  • ATM cards
  • Business debit cards

The Bottom Line

Cash App and Varo Money (or Bank as it’s now called) work together flawlessly after you connect the two through their respective apps.

The two apps bring different things to the table, it is actually smart to use both and interlink them as neither has a monthly fee and you get an excellent savings account with Varo and you can invest in stocks and Bitcoin with Cash App.

It’s also easier to send money to friends that already have an existing Cash App account.
