Chime Bank Name and Address (How to Set Up Direct Deposit)

Written By Branson Knowles

Online banking apps like Chime have made it easier than ever to set up direct deposits. While most traditional banks may require you to come in and talk to one of their bankers, Chime gives you everything you need so you can set up direct deposit on your own.

Chime has two bank partners: The Bancorp Bank and Stride Bank. Stride Bank is the bank that appears on the Chime direct deposit form with an address 24 W Broadway Ave, Enid, OK 73701.

Chime offers to move your direct deposit completely free of charge and will even give you a number of perks for doing it. When you move your direct deposit to Chime, you will also get:

  • Activated mobile check deposit feature
  • Access to your money up to two days early
  • Fee-free overdraft up to $200
  • Credit builder card

You most likely don’t need to give Chime’s bank name or address to your employer or whoever is directly depositing into your account, but if they do require it, you can find it in the app. I’ll show you how.

How to Set Up Direct Deposit Through Chime

There are a couple of different ways you can set up direct deposit through Chime, depending on what’s easiest for you and what your employer or direct deposit payer may require.

To enable direct deposit, many employers only need an account number and routing number to send the funds to. Nothing complicated, just two numbers and the name of the bank/institution who holds the accounts.

How to Find Your Routing and Account Numbers

If you’re only in need of your routing and account numbers, you can find them in the Chime app.

Enter the app using your PIN and then head to the settings in the upper left hand corner of the home screen and scroll down until you see them.

You can also find your Chime routing and account numbers in the Move Money tab.

Click on the Move Money tab, the second of the four tabs towards the bottom of the screen, and click on Move your direct deposit.

Chime will show you your routing and account numbers on this screen as well, and ask if you’d like to set up direct deposit on your own or if there is anything they can do on their end to help you speed up the process.

How to Get Your Own Direct Deposit Form in Chime App

Direct deposit forms take all of the guesswork out of setting up direct deposits.

Some employers require them, and most financial institutions have some form of them. Chime has one as well, and can send you a direct deposit form linked to your account for free.

In the Move Money tab, after clicking on Move your direct deposit, Chime will allow you to print or email your own direct deposit form. Click Get completed form on the Move your direct deposit screen to bring it up.

Before setting up direct deposit for you, Chime will want to know how much of your direct deposit you’re looking to bring over.

You can bring over 100% of your direct deposit, 1%, or any amount in between.

This can be very beneficial for anyone looking to get their paycheck in multiple accounts without having to make a transfer. You can also transfer a specific dollar amount over a percentage as well.

Chime will automatically email the completed form to the email address you have on file with them.

The form will include:

  • Your full name
  • Chime’s bank name
  • Chime’s bank address
  • However much of the check you want to deposit into your Chime account

Once you’ve received the direct deposit sign-up form in your email, you can either print it out and hand it to your employer or their HR department, or you can email it straight to them.

How to Set Up Direct Deposit Through Plaid

The last option Chime gives their customers looking to set up direct deposit is to set it up through Plaid.

Plaid is one of the most well-known fintech companies that specialize in linking external bank accounts to online banks and their platforms.

Plaid gives you the ability to log into your bank’s online platform and link everything through them. It’s secure, simple, and completely free. They’re used by Cash App, Venmo, and Paypal so their reputation within the industry is very high.

Not every employer partners with Plaid to give their employees an easy direct deposit sign up experience, but some very popular ones do.

Some of the most popular employers that allow their employees to set up direct deposit through Chime are Amazon, DoorDash, and McDonalds.

After you’ve logged in through Plaid’s system and into your own employee login, you can designate how much of your check you want to be moved into Chime. It may take a payroll cycle or two to complete.

Does Chime Have Any Benefits for Setting up Direct Deposit?

While other banks or fintech companies simply include direct deposit as another one of their features, Chime actually gives their direct deposit using customers other benefits throughout their platform.

If you decide to move over your direct deposit to Chime, they’ll give you a couple of benefits.

Mobile Check Deposit

First, direct deposit users on Chime gain the ability to deposit their checks mobilly into the app, by taking a picture of them.

Once a couple of your direct deposits have gone through to Chime, they’ll unlock the mobile deposit feature on your app, allowing you to deposit both treasury and non-U.S. treasury checks alike, all by taking a picture.

Get Paid Early

You can also receive your direct deposit up to two days early.

If your payroll provider contacts Chime and lets them know how much you’ll be receiving before Payday, they’ll actually allow you to access your direct deposit funds early.

Fee Free Overdraft

Chime’s SpotMe feature is another feature unique to the fintech company. Specifically, the SpotMe feature allows users to overdraft their accounts up to $200 without incurring any fees.

To unlock the SpotMe feature, users must receive at least $200 in qualifying direct deposits to their Chime accounts each month.

Initially, SpotMe users are only allowed to overdraft their debit cards through debit card transactions by $20, but this can increase over time.

They will increase your limit based on your transaction history, direct deposit history, and spending activity.

Automatic Savings and Credit Builder

Chime also has a save while you get paid feature. The feature will automatically transfer 10% of your paycheck to your Chime savings account if the deposit is over $500.

The Credit Builder is Chime’s credit building credit card.

To be able to apply for it, you must receive at least $200 in qualifying deposits through direct deposit. It can come through a traditional payroll ACH transaction or through OCT transfers.

Is It Worth Moving Your Direct Deposit to Chime?

If you receive direct deposit currently, and use Chime as your main bank, I would recommend moving your pay over to Chime. They offer a litany of benefits to anyone willing to do so.

Depositing your checks through their mobile deposit will save you from the trouble of ever having to go to the bank again. The checks don’t take very long to process from mobile deposits either, usually a business day or two and never usually more than five.

Chime’s SpotMe feature is an industry first as well, giving their customers the financial leeway they need to go through life without incurring fees. Initially, SpotMe will cover up to $20 in overdrafts without a fee and can go all the way up to $200.

Lastly, Chime’s Save When I Get Paid and Credit Builder programs are great for those just starting their savings and investing journeys. Even if you have bad credit, Chime’s Credit builder program may be able to get you the credit you need to apply for that big loan.

Chime Bank Phone Number

If you’re a Chime user in need of some customer service, the best way to get a hold of the fintech company is by calling their customer support hotline. The phone number for Chime is 1-844-244-6363 and they’re available 24/7.

  1. I really do love my Chime account. I find it more useful than any regular bank institution. I hope it continues to serve it’s customers well.

  2. I have been with Chime for about 2 years. I accidentally signed out of the app, and I forgot my password. I put in a request for a password. I jumped through all of the hoops they suggested and I still can not sign in. I have no clue what to do.
